A reader wrote the following question on our Round Table:
In Lavender Lies, China and her friends are sitting on a porch, weaving lavender hearts. I'd like to try my hand at this, but can't find so much as a picture of a finished heart. I've searched the internet andthe library to no avail. Can anyone point me to a website with a photo or illustration, and hopefully, instructions, on how to make these? Thanks!
Here are the instructions:
Take six spikes of fresh, pliant lavender and make two braids of three spikes each. Holding the braids at the stem end, form two loops, as shown, with the flower heads downward. Fasten with string or wire tie (the kind that comes from a bread wrapper). Add a pretty bow.
