Divide and Multiply
Got herbs? Get more! Many perennial herbs, such as mints, sorrel, chives, oregano, can be divided and moved to new locations in your garden. You can do this in early spring, when they show their new leaves, or in fall, a couple of weeks before the first frost. Use a spade to pry the root mass apart and dig an ample hole for your transplant in its new home. Most herbs don't need fertilizer, but the transplant will appreciate regular waterjng until it's settled in and started to grow.
