Tummy Troubles? Try Ginger!
Ginger was used 5,000 years ago by the Chinese to treat colds, seasickness, and arthritis—and as a general cleansing tonic. But it was the ancient Greeks who came up with gingerbread. To treat indigestion, they ate ginger root wrapped in bread. Putting powdered ginger root into the bread was the logical next step. To make your own ginger tea, steep 2 teaspoons of powdered or grated root in a cup of just-boiled water for 10 minutes. Strain and sweeten with honey.
