Some recent news:
I have been chosen to serve as the Honorary President of the Herb Society of America for 2012-2014. Thanks to the HSA for this recognition, which I treasure. China is thrilled, I am delighted, and both of us hope to find some effective ways to further the excellent work of this important organization.

The International Herb Association has awarded Wormwood its coveted book award, given to books that "contribute to our knowledge, information, use, or enjoyment of herbs." Many thanks to the IHA and to readers of Wormwood, for recognizing its importance as a documentation of the lives and work of Shaker herbalists.

My latest memoir—An Extraordinary Year of Ordinary Days—has been published by the University of Texas Press. It is my journal for 2008, a challenging year for many Americans.

And speaking of something new, have you heard about The Darling Dahlias? That's my newest mystery series! The first two books are available now, the third will be out in September 2012, and I'm working on the fourth book now. It's exciting to be involved with a new series, and especially this one.
